Derrel 12i - Methods of Development
Schools should only censor extreme violence, and pornographic content as they both do not belong in a school environment. Students should have the ability to access information no matter how controversial said information is, as it’ll allow the students to mold their own opinion on vast topics. Censoring a source of information due to being controversial isn’t an effective, as controversy is subjective and may hinder students from accessing certain information that the school may deem as “bad” but is in fact normal in the real world. This can be seen in the case where students aren’t able to access necessary information for their AP Biology exam (Source C). Another reason why school should limit their censorship to only the things listed above is to prevent mass censorship done by the school itself (Source A). The school is not accountable to anyone, this means that they can censor anything as they please which decrease the number of information that the students can access. Lastly, internet censorship in school should have a stricter criteria, compared to instantly banning a site from its wording (Source B). Stricter criteria on selecting what site is deemed necessary to ban and what is not is necessary on protecting students from harmful information, while no blocking from the useful ones.

In my opinion the best is comparison and contrast, as I can show the harmful effects of severe censorship, and show the positive effects of a lighter censorship.
