N. Read the entire task description over carefully.  Pay careful attention to details. Please advise the teacher before you begin grade-fixing.  If you have any questions or want clarification please ask.

I. Choose a topic related to a mystery or curiosity.  What is it? (5-10 words)

II. Design a gathering grid with at least four questions you have about your topic: At least two of your questions should be inferential (opened) questions, not literal (closed); i.e., asking "how" or "why", not "does", "where", "who", etc. (50-500 words)

III. Choose any one brain storming technique and apply it to your topic. (50-250 words)

IV. Your gathering grid and brain storming should have led you to a number of sources for your topic.  Select at least three and give complete MLA style bibliographical information for them.

V. How credible are these sources?  Discuss.  (50-100 words)  

VI. Write a short non-fiction report on the topic you have chosen.  Use the three sources you have chosen as evidence to support your thesis.  They will appear in your essay as quotes or in-text citations.  (Minimum 500 words)

VII. Write an abstract, a summary , for your essay.  (90-110 words exactly)
