Test prep: Argumentative essay
By: Audricka Pashaya H
Part I
Essay:
Happiness can be defined by a positive state of mind, and experiencing oneself on a positive situation/circumstance. It, too, could be manipulated by biochemistry by the use of drugs (which some force the production of dopamine), or sex/self-satisfaction (in this case, force the production of oxytocin in some circumstance). Most of the time positivity brings up happiness, such as that time one feels hopeful of what one does, or that experience where one gets gratified for something that they do.
Part II
Part A: Thesis 1/1
The author brings up thesis with detailed description which to clear up all the confusion. The author shows an alternative way to be happy too, which makes the thesis clear.
Part B: Evidence AND Commentary 3/4
The author shows most of the evidence by giving situations and apply his thesis. As everyone have been in the situation, it would mostly make the evidence reliable (at least in my opinion).
Part C: Sophistication 1/1
As the author puts up scientific subjects (second sentence), and as the thesis is partly based on a real theory (Lyubormisky’s happiness theory), it would make its sophistication.
Total: 5/6

No. You can't score a wee paragraph like that 3/4 for evidence and commentary; oh no... AP does not give a suggested word count, but 200 to 400 is the norm for the sample papers they release.
