The annotations are exceedingly clear and well done. The diagram is especially rich, reminds me of Giorgio de Chirico:

Like almost everyone, you've made the rhetor active and the audience passive, I wonder if sometimes it is the other way around, the speaker is effectively the puppet of the paying audience...?
