Derrel, Seno, Audrick - Rhetorical Situation

1. A rhetorical situation is the basis that writers or speakers use to develop their rhetoric. There are four fundamentals part. These are the rhetor, the audience, the language used, and the purpose for the rhetoric to be said in the first place. Rhetoric situations has been defined differently by many people, with the most prevalent school of thought being Bitzer and Vats.  
2. The difference between Bitzer and Vatz position on rhetorical situations begins on perspective. According to Bitzer's rhetorical situation is based on factual reality and will always remain constant while according to Vatz’s whatever you perceive from reality is based from the rhetoric that is being made. After reading about the two differences we have finally came to a conclusion that Bitzer’s view on rhetorical situation is the right one because Bitzer based the rhetoric on the facts while Vatz’s based the facts on rhetoric.
3. “Our nation’s laws protecting people against discrimination based on their disability are robust… Any right-minded person would be horrified if toddlers with newly acquired disabilities were killed because of their differences, or if war-wounded veterans were euthanized instead of honored and cared for.”.The author is wording their rhetoric as if we are killing live babies, or in other words children who are out of the womb. This can be further seen with the comparison of euthanizing war veterans, or an act of killing live adults. This rhetoric was made to make give a sense of guilt for pro-abortion supporters.
